ESA Funds University of Malta’s Contribution to CosmoCube
CosmoCube and the University of Malta have secured €123,106 through the second ESA PECS call for Malta. Beginning on 16 June and running for 15 months, the project is led at the University of Malta by Professor Alessio Magro and will develop CosmoCube’s Monitoring and Control system.
The system will connect the scientific payload—including its analogue front end and RF System-on-Chip—to the lunar orbiter’s communications systems. It will control calibration and observation cycles, process instrument data, monitor temperature, power and payload health, manage potential faults, and prepare scientific data for transmission back to Earth.
